Who will treat you

The people you will
actually see.

A small clinic, deliberately. The doctor who assesses you is the doctor who designs your programme and the one you come back to — supported by four therapists trained in the Kerala tradition.

Doctor

Dr. Sudesh Walia

Founder Doctor of the centre, and the reason authentic Ayurveda is practised in Nairobi at all.

Sudesh Walia, founder and director of Ayurvedic Health Services
Qualifications
  • Doctor Ayurvedic Health Services
  • Past President, Rotary Club of Nairobi (2003–04)

Originally from New Delhi, Sudesh moved to Kenya in the 1970s to pursue a career as a grade school teacher — a position from which she promptly rose to School Principal, leading the establishments she headed to national academic achievements.

Having taken numerous safaris as a resident of Kenya, her love for travel and connection to nature inspired her to establish her own safari company, to which she brought her leadership and a passion for holistic wellness getaways in the Kenyan wilderness.

A well-known and respected philanthropic figure, Sudesh Walia lives in Nairobi and advocates community spirit through her active involvement in the local Rotary International chapter. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Nairobi — the oldest and largest club in the district — where she served as President in 2003–04.

When it comes to investing, we tend to invest in our business, work, family, friends and almost everybody else. We fail to recognize the importance of investing in ourselves. A healthy and positive mind lives only in a healthy body. Ask: what good shall I be to anyone if I am not good to myself?

What happens

Your first visit, in order

Consultations are strictly by prior appointment, because of the time each one takes.

  1. 45–60 min

    The first consultation

The doctor establishes your Mind/Body/Dosha status, the imbalance behind your symptoms, and the toxins at work. By appointment only — it takes as long as it takes.

  2. Same visit

A plan, and what it costs

You leave knowing which therapies are proposed, over how many days, and what the course will cost. Nothing starts before you have that.

  3. Ongoing

    The therapists

Treatments are carried out by four therapists trained in the Kerala tradition, working to the programme the doctor has set and reporting back to him.
