MIGRAINE: SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT WITH AYURVEDA
Migraine has become a common disorder owing to modern lifestyle. From the perspective of Ayurveda, migraine headaches are due to a disorder in tridosha (Three functional energies ) migraines frequently occur when systemic pitta moves into the cardiovascular system, circulates, and affects the blood vessels around the brain. KIDNEY FAILURE#
According to Ayurveda, CRF (chronic renal failure) is a disease of Mutravaha Srotas. Though all the three Doshas as well as all the Dushyas are involved in the disease, Kapha is responsible in blocking microvessels and developing microangiopathy. Vata is responsible for degeneration of the structure of the kidney. According to Ayurvedic principles of management of the disease, tissue damage can be prevented and repaired by Rasayana drugs because they have the capability to improve qualities of tissues and hence increase resistance of the tissues. PREVENTION OF DISEASES WITH AYURVEDA
Ayurveda offers a unique blend of science and philosophy that balances the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual components necessary for holistic health. Ayurveda is not simply a health care system but a form of lifestyle adopted to maintain perfect balance and harmony within the human existence.
Unique Three fold approach of Ayurveda:
1. Preventive approach- Diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Arthritis, Thyroid diseases etc usually start cropping up at the age of 35-40 yrs, especially if you have a family history of these diseases. Attack of these diseases can be avoided if a healthy individual starts doing Panchakarma therapies at the age of 35-40.
2. Curative approach- With the help of panchakarma therapies diseases like Gout, Arthritis, Spondylitis, Spine related diseases, Hypertension, Complication of Diabetes, Stress, Depression ,Sinusitis ,Sex related diseases ,Kidney diseases etc, can be treated effectively from their root causes.
3. Rejuvenative approach- Aging is an accumulation of damage to cells, tissues and organs of body. If any of that damage can be repaired, the result is rejuvenation. Aging processes and all chronic diseases are result of damage done by free radicals to the body cells .Rejuvenation therapies expel out free radicals from the body thus nourishing all cells ,leading to the reversal of the aging processes. At the age of 60 plus one can feel energy flowing alike much younger person.
Ayurveda emphasizes more on prevention of the diseases. As we know all Chronic diseases starts manifesting at the age of 35-40yrs ,specially if you have a family history of these diseases, That means children of parents with heart or blood vessel diseases may be more likely to develop them. These are Genetic disorders.Genetic disorder is an illness caused by abnormalities in genes or chromosomes. Genetic disorder , environment ,Improper food habits and unhealthy lifestyle all together are responsible for manifestation of diseases like –Hypertension ,Strokes , Diabetes, Skin Problems, Arthritis, Asthma, Obesity, High cholesterol, Infertility, Cancer etc. These can be prevented with Ayurveda.
According to Ayurveda, Genetic disorders come under the category of Beejdoshaja vyadhi. Even though we can’t change the genetic makeup, but we can reduce the risk by doing Panchakarma (Detoxification) therapies and adopting a healthier lifestyle that includes, diet & Yoga ,according to the body constituent . We can delay the manifestation of these chronic diseases. For example –If an individual has a family history of Diabetes he /she would likely to get Dm in 40’s but if he /she under went panchakarma therapies we can prevent /delay the onset of diseases by 10 yrs.
You can learn more about your family history by asking questions, talking at family gatherings, and looking at family medical records, if possible. Try to learn about the medical history of your grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, nieces and children. Please share your family history information with your doctor. TREATMENT OF GOUT ACCORDING TO AYURVEDA
